There’s no right or wrong way to build an application per say, but there are some key principles and a general hierarchy to follow. Understanding these simple principles and you’re well on your way.
Account: Is the highest-level structure in TrackVia
Apps: Short for “applications”, these are a collection of tables that contain related information.
Tables: These contain the information you wish to organize and share with others.
Records & Fields: Each table contains records. For example, if created a table to track your customers, you might have a record for each customer. In turn, each record might contain separate fields of info such as the customer’s first name, last name, phone number, email address, etc.
Views: Although often referred to as “reports”, views allow you to sort, filter and see your data. For example, if you wanted to see all your customers named “John”, you would create a view to do that.
Dashboards: Dashboards are simply multiple views (aka – Reports) displayed together on a single page.
Tools: These are integrated features that allow you to automate common tasks, such as sending alerts or emails or exporting data.
